Disclaimer: It is important to note that consulting with your doctor/physician should take precedence and come first when deciding upon treating any ailment or disease. Additionally, research into cannabis, while the field is indeed growing, is still limited and the need for clinical trials and experiments is a topic that society needs to collectively address. Proper and effective dosing, for example, is a facet of medical marijuana that has been difficult to establish due to restrictions our governments have in place. The potential for cannabis’ ability to save lives is one that cannot be overlooked, but unfortunately still needs to be intensively studied.
While the legalization of marijuana for recreational use in the states of Colorado and Washington gives much reason to celebrate, it is important to remember that still, less than half of the United States has legalized cannabis for medical access. Throughout most of the world cannabis is still ignorantly and egregiously viewed as a dangerous and harmful narcotic. Furthermore, there are still hundreds, if not thousands of non-violent political prisoners serving time in both federal and state institutions for simply growing or distributing a plant and or seeds – Eddy Lepp and Marc Emery come to mind.
Most importantly however, is the fact that we are still not discussing how cannabis cures cancer. It doesn’t just treat cancer, it CURES CANCER. It literally kills cancer cells, reduces tumors, and inhibits cancer growth. The aim of this article is to illustrate this, and to give you all the evidence you could ask for.
First and foremost however, some facts about cancer:
- 1 in 2 males will develop some form of cancer in their lifetimes. 1 of 4 of those will die from cancer. (source: cancer.org)
- 1 in 3 females will develop some form of cancer in their lifetimes. 1 of 5 of those will die from cancer. (source: cancer.org)
- In 2013 1,660,290 new cases of cancer were diagnosed in the US alone. In 2013 580,350 people died from various forms of cancer. (source: cancer.org)
- The cost to treat cancer oftentimes exceeds more than $100,000. (source: costprojections.cancer.gov)
- Chemotherapy treatments are less than 3% successful (yes, a 97% failure rate) and are only effective in extending a patient’s life; it in no way cures cancer. (source: naturalnews.com)
- Some current forms of cancer treatment involves the surgical removal of cancer sites, breasts, genitals, ect. Oftentimes, cancers have been known to simply re-occur in new areas of an individual’s body years or even months after the surgery. (source: cancer.org)
- Society is losing the war on cancer. (source: kpbs news article)
Before we discuss the meat of things, a reminder needs to be given – that cannabis is far safer than prescription medication (which kills someone in the US every 19 minutes) and that MARIJUANA HAS NEVER KILLED ANYONE PERIOD.
With that said, here we go:
Cannabis kills cancer cells. Even the government website Cancer.gov says so:
Here’s that cancer.gov link
The video below is a collection of interviews with medical doctors and offers scientific evidence as to how and why cannabis can cure cancer. Originally posted on youtube by Lincoln Horsley
The next video below is an interview with biochemist Dennis Hill who cured his prostate cancer with cannabis oil. Here he explains how cannabinoids, compounds contained within the cannabis plant, kill cancer cells. The video was originally posted on youtube by vito tums.
Additionally, the US Government has been submitting hundreds of patents on the medical efficacy of cannabis not just for cancer, but for various diseases and ailments such as Alzheimer’s, Diabetes, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Auto Immune Diseases, and more. The video below, originally posted on youtube by XIxItalianoxIX illustrates this.
Obviously you’ll want a bit more proof than that, so lets examine how cannabis specifically works on the major various forms of cancer out there.

There you have it – an expansive but definitely not all inclusive compilation of science based evidence proving that CANNABIS CURES CANCER.
It doesn’t do just that. The marijuana plant possesses amazing potential for the treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease, Arthritis, Diabetes, Epilepsy and Seizures, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain, HIV/AIDS, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and more. Here is a list of conditions treatable with cannabis by medicalmarijuana.com. Feel free to do your own research – google is an amazing tool. There is even more science based evidence out there, and the number of studies on this amazing plant grow each year.
If the above information and the rest of the material on this site isn’t enough to convince you of the medical efficacy of cannabis, then there isn’t much left to be said.
Please understand that the Federal Government STILL classifies cannabis as a Schedule I drug touted as having “no currently accepted medical use,” that is worse than cocaine and meth, and is to be treated as a substance for criminal prosecution. Additionally, current research into medical cannabis is being heavily hindered by numerous institutions within both the Federal Government and State Governments. NIDA, the National Institute for Drug Abuse, will only legally allow studies that relate to cannabis and addiction. It’s taken upward of 7 years for some medical institutions to get permits on studying cannabis’ medical effects, and the red tape and bureaucracy holding research into this plant down is a severe disservice to science and more importantly, the sick people that need this plant.
Worse still, is that society and a majority of the world continues to ignorantly view cannabis with a prejudicial stigma resulting from political propaganda. Despite the fact that it has been scientifically proven that alcohol and tobacco are far worse for one’s health than marijuana (which actually has numerous health benefits), some countries levy life in prison and even the death sentence to those consuming or possessing a medicinal plant.
The hypocrisy, insanity, and ludicrous nature of this is blaring. THE GOVERNMENT AND THE NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE HAVE KNOWN ABOUT CANNABIS’ ABILITY TO TREAT CANCEROUS TUMORS SINCE 1975. Here is a link to that 1975 study originally published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute reprinted at the US National Library of Public Medicine – Antineoplastic activity of cannabinoids.
If you are finding it hard to believe that the US Government would do such a thing, then please check out the Burzynski Documentary concerning Anti-Neoplastons. This is ANOTHER CURE FOR CANCER that the FDA, the AMA, and the National Cancer Institute have known about since 1976, and have been trying for several decades to send the doctor who discovered the treatment to jail. Please, watch the documentary if you want to know more – it is another effective cure for cancer, and the doctor’s fight continues to this day.
Once again, the material in this article and throughout the rest of this site should be enough to convince you that this plant is a panacea cure-all that society needs. Cannabis, which is also hemp, is the most versatile beneficial natural substance on the planet and it also happens to be the safest, most remarkably non-toxic medicine we know of.
People need safe legal access to cannabis throughout the world, this should not be in question or a point of debate by now. It is inhumane that people who need this medicine are prohibited from using it because of an age old stigma that is based on a lie. It is appallingly criminal that politics and profit stand in the way of legalizing such a simple plant that could be helping billions; yes billions! It is disgustingly hypocritical that pharmaceutical companies and the US government are submitting patents in order to profit from synthetic compounds derived from cannabis – all the while hundreds of thousands of people continue to die from cancer, hundreds of thousands more from other diseases that cannabis could be treating, and quite literally millions more throughout the world each and every year – all resulting from the prohibition of cannabis. This is a genocide resulting from ignorance and stupidity!
Remember and consider all those that have perished from cancer since 1975. Has it dawned on you that they could have been given a chance?
Now consider the cancer facts that were stated at the beginning of this article. 1 in 2 men. 1 in 3 women. And that’s just cancer. What about the other ailments or diseases that you or someone you know is afflicted with or could be years from now? Alzheimers, Arthritis, Auto-Immune Disease, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Fibromyalgia, HIV/AIDS, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, PTSD, and more collectively afflict billions of people throughout the world. Don’t you or someone you know deserve access to a medicine without being viewed as a criminal, especially if it was essential for saving your life?
It’s unfortunate, it really is, the continued stigma that surrounds this plant. Even today, news and talk shows are filled with anti-marijuana propaganda – Fox News and sensationalist anchors such as Nancy Grace come to mind. The fear? Getting high? One thing that needs to be pointed out is that you can actually consume cannabis raw in order to treat most cancers and diseases without receiving the psychoactive effects of the cannabis plant – you don’t need to get high!
Now, the cancer-cannabis ramblings of a not so dumb stoner are coming to a conclusion.
All that remains to be said in this article is this – please spread the word. Cannabis is an amazing plant that has unimaginable potential for helping society and the world; not just as a medicine, but as a source of food, bio-fuel, paper, textiles, a solution to nuclear radiation, a solution to global warming, taxes that could be going to education and infrastructure, and far more. It’s easy to grow, and the cure for cancer and numerous other diseases is abundant and far more affordable and effective than virtually any prescription medication out there.
Do your own research, check out important documentaries such as Run From the Cure and Cannabis Rising, inform yourself and support the legalization of cannabis wherever you are in the world. If you’re against recreational use that’s fine, but there should be zero argument in the face of medical access. Cannabis could end up saving yours or a loved one’s life. Remember that.
